Acceptable Use Policy

This policy exists because the tools here can be pointed at other people. QR codes lead somewhere, the PDF renderer fetches URLs, and background removal processes photographs of real people. The rules below keep those capabilities from being turned into harm.

Prohibited content and uses

  • Phishing, malware distribution, or deceptive redirects through dynamic QR codes
  • Content that sexualises minors, in any form — reported to authorities, no warning
  • Processing images of people in order to harass, impersonate, or create intimate imagery without consent
  • Copyright or trademark infringement, including passing off others' brands
  • Rendering pages behind authentication you do not own, or scraping in breach of a site's terms
  • Probing internal or private networks — our renderer blocks private IP ranges and attempts are logged

Technical limits

  • Stay within your plan's quotas; do not create multiple accounts to multiply a free tier
  • One API key belongs to one product or organisation — do not resell access to it
  • Do not run load or penetration tests against the platform without written permission
  • Respect 429 responses with backoff rather than hammering the endpoint

Enforcement

Most breaches get a warning and a chance to fix things. Child safety violations, active phishing, and attacks on our infrastructure result in immediate suspension with no notice, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate. Suspension stops every API key on the account at once.

Reporting abuse

If you have received a malicious QR code or found content produced through Toolbeamthat breaks these rules, email abuse@toolbeam.app with the short link or URL. We investigate abuse reports ahead of everything else in the queue.
